Privacy Policy

The short version

Short the Ask is a forecasting game about home asking prices. It uses virtual credits that have no cash value, cannot be bought, and cannot be withdrawn. We collect the minimum needed to run the game: your email (to sign you in), the forecasts and trades you make, and, if you turn notifications on, a device token so we can send them. We do not sell data, we do not run ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, or your Apple ID relay address if you use Sign in with Apple, plus a display name derived from it. Used to sign you in and identify your account.
• Activity: the free forecasts you make, the virtual-credit trades you place, your resulting positions and balance, and the reputation score computed from them. Used to run the game and show the leaderboard (which shows display names only, never emails).
• Notifications: if you turn them on, an Expo push token for your device. Used only to send the notifications you asked for. Delete the app or turn notifications off and it stops.
• Technical: standard server logs (IP address, request time) kept briefly by our hosting providers for security and debugging.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, health data, financial account details, or payment information. There is nothing to pay for.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no data shared with advertisers or data brokers.
• No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
• No selling of personal data.
• No real money. Credits are a game score. Nothing in the app is a financial product or an appraisal.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the app: Supabase (database and sign-in, hosted in the United States), Expo (build tooling and the push-notification relay), and Apple (Sign in with Apple and TestFlight, if you use them). Each processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms. We will disclose data if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Forecast and trade history is part of the game's record and is kept while your account exists so that resolved markets and reputation stay accurate.

Delete your account

Email xuberenttechnologies@gmail.com from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”. We remove your account, forecasts, positions, push tokens, and reputation within 30 days. Ledger history is anonymised rather than deleted so the platform's accounting remains auditable.

Children

Short the Ask is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes
